Animal Physical Therapy
Animal physical therapy is of benefit in treating a wide
variety of conditions, many of which are similar to human conditions commonly
treated with physical therapy:
amputation arthritis bone fractures
bursitis elbow dysplasia hip dysplasia
joint sprains/strains ligament injuries with or without surgical
repair
multiple trauma/hit by car paralysis spinal injuries with
or without surgical repair
tendonitis wounds
In compliance with Nevada statutes and A.V.M.A. guidelines,
we require a written referral for animal physical therapy services from
a treating veterinarian. To facilitate this process, we have created a
prescription/referral form, which you can print from this website, or
contact us and we will be happy to send one to your veterinarian. He/she
can them fax it back to K9 Wellness Center, or you can bring it with you
to your initial visit.
After the initial evaluation, your veterinarian will receive
a report of the therapist's objective findings, assessment, and treatment
plan. And he/she will receive written and/or verbal progress reports throughout
the animal's treatment.
